Experience Downing's Bar in Nailsea
Downing's Bar opened its doors on Nailsea High Street in December 2024 with a clear vision: to create a warm, welcoming, and luxurious space where guests are treated to the kind of attentive, old-fashioned service that makes every visit feel special.
Furnished with rich leather seating and handcrafted tables made from sustainably sourced timber from the historic Tyntesfield estate, our bar is designed for comfort, conversation, and a touch of indulgence.
We’re proud to offer an extensive and carefully curated selection of wines from around the world—52 exceptional bottles, with 33 available by the glass, including our elegant house Champagne. Whether you're a connoisseur or simply looking to try something new, there’s something here for every palate and every occasion.
Our cocktails are freshly mixed to order, balancing classic style with contemporary flair—each one crafted to impress.
We also champion the best of the South West with a wide range of Somerset ciders (22 at present) and a rotating selection of unfiltered craft lagers and beers from local brewers like Wiper and True, Arbor, and Left Handed Giant.
All served with our signature personal table service—because we believe every guest deserves to relax, feel valued, and enjoy a truly memorable experience.
